A domain is the name and address of a website on the internet. It’s what people type into their browser to find you, for example: bcnpcsolutions.com.

Think of a domain as your “name online”: instead of remembering a bunch of numbers, people use a simple, memorable name. When someone enters your domain, the internet knows where to route them so your website loads.

What is a domain for?

• So people can find you easily: it’s your public online address.

What parts make up a domain?

• The ending: .com, .es, .net (this is called the extension)

Domains are usually paid yearly (or for multiple years). As long as it’s registered in your name, no one else can take it. If it expires, someone else could register it.
